Snowflakes

Punch: Paper Studio
Paper: card stock
Ribbon: ribbonFX
Embossing Pattern: Cuttlebug "Textures"
Snowflakes: unknown

I enjoyed working with simpler materials and a less complicated pattern during this busy week. I like the textured background the best, and found it worked well with the punched "flowers" too. I seem to have a candycane theme to many of the Christmas cards I've made this season, and used the ribbon to express that again.

I tend to put all my holiday embellishments in containers by category rather than keeping the packages to identify the companies. It feels too overwhelming to store and sort through so much, so if you have suggestions to improve my organization, I'd love to know what you do!

MOJO 113 MERRY CHRISTMAS

PAPER: Paper Studio and CTMH
candy canes: unknown...just part of my stash!
clear button: Arcrylic Gems
Punches: Paper Studio
Silver Ink: Writer Metallic Collection
Ribbon: RibbonFX (purchased at Hobby Lobby)

The bottom strip is the candy cane paper which is then repeated as a more obvious layer. I liked the mottled silver paper with the red / white themes and I used my silver metalic pen to add a few dots to the flower punches.

Merry Christmas

Paper: Hallmark and Paper Studio
Ribbon: Christmas Ribbon
Tree: unknown

I like that the Merry Christmas greeting is already on the paper and I didn't feel like I needed to add another message...perhaps too cluttered. I've been investing in new punches, so this was an opportunity to try out this combination and it seems to be the right size for this card. I wanted to repeat the ribbon and liked the tree embellishment to pull the lower design together. It's difficult to see, but the Merry Christmas paper is embossed with a holly pattern from Cuttlebug.

Pointsettia MOJO 111

I hope the day comes when I don't have to think so hard about combinations of paper and products to use to make cards. I love the challenges in spite of my skills!

Paper: Paper Studio and Hallmark
Embossing stamp and powder: Stampabilities / CTMH Z668 (gold) & Stamp-N-Stuff (red tinsel)
Ribbon: Craft Narrows
Rhinestones: Studio 8

The card itself is simple and the only somewhat time consuming part was figuring out what I wanted to do with the poinsettia. I used gold embossing powder on green and red paper and then cut them out and offset them so they'd have a layered look. I wanted to repeat the embossing and chose to outline the darkest square.

I used dots to raise them and the upper squares. I was pleased to find some left over red and gold ribbon that looked good with the flowers. The inside of the card also has an embossed pointsettia done in red in the lower right corner.
